In 2002 Shadowbox were invited as the only Irish Company to bring a group to the Ranum International Theatre Festival in Denmark. These festivals have been running since 1994 and this was the first time and Irish group has attended. Our performances of ‘Baobabs’ during the festival resulted in the company being invited back to the next festival and to Theaterwerkstatt in Germany. The piece performed was also chosen as a part of a study, in Denmark, on Theatre for people with Intellectual disabilities.
The company has since performed ‘Baobabs’ in a number of settings including Theatres, schools and service organisations.
Baobabs was reworked as an outdoor production for the Dublin St Patrick's Day Festival.
